THE FARR LOFTS
Adaptive re-use of the original Farr's Shoes building in downtown Allentown, PA.
This 32,000 sq ft, 5-story structure was originally built for the Farr family's footwear company (both retail and manufacturing) and was completed in 1927. The conversion project included 20 loft-style apartments and new retail space on the ground floor. Many of the building's original features, including steel trusses, hardwood floors, vintage half-glass office doors, 12' high ceilings, and oversized window openings were incorporated into the overall integration of the old and the new.
